As computers are becoming more and more popular, people tend to use them for storing their day to day facts. These facts are personal when they assume it to be while storing. But do you know somebody may be watching you without entering your house but by spying your files in the hard drive containing your private information. Users unknowingly keep their e-mail ids and passwords in their system.
While using internet, the risk of being victim is more. As you are surfing net, the computer is more vulnerable to attack by viruses and spy-ware. Though public thinks that both virus and spy-ware are same type of problems. But, they are wrong; there is an important difference. Viruses are written to dismantle the operating system the user is using, with no direct benefit to its creator. Whereas spy-ware on the other hand, is installed peacefully watching your surfing habits and interests and passing them online to its creator. The creator in turn pops out certain websites as its advertisement. These may include your interests and surfing habits.
Mainly spy-ware is not mend to cause damage on your system. But, more often then end up doing so, as they are more difficult to be detected.
