25Sep How to speed boot-up and system response time…
I am not able to provide any screenshots now….
If you have a new system with plenty of RAM in the order of 2GB or more, you can further speed up the system responsiveness by altogether disabling the Virtual Memory wich is important when a system contains less RAM but degrades performance when it is enabled on systems with large memory installed.
To disable virtual memory follw the steps…….
FIRST ENSURE THAT THE SYSTEM HAS MORE HAN 2GB OF RAM SO THAT YOU DON’T HAVE TO CLOSE ANY PROGRAMS WHEN THE MEMORY IS FULL…..THIS WOULDN’T HAPPEN IF THE SYATEM HAS ATLEAST 2GB RAM……
1. Go to My Computer
2. Right lick and goto Properties
3. Then a window called System will be opened….Now goto the Tab of Advanced.
4. Then goto the tab and click on Settings in the area labelled Performance.
5. Then goto Advanced…..and then click on change in the zone labelled Virtual Memory.
6. Then select the radio button which shows no paging file…..
7. Now apply the changes…..You will be asked to restart the computer to apply changes.
RESTART AND YOU WILL BE DONE…..
